Anxiety and Panic Attack Symptoms

I’m sure all of you anxiety and panic attack sufferers out there will know what I am talking about when I say that I have done a lot of searching on the internet to find other men and women that have experienced similar symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks as me.  Not that we (anxiety & panic sufferers) would wish any of these unpleasant symptoms on anyone, but it just gives us assurance that we are not alone, and there are people out there who actually could relate to us.  There have been times when I will have a new symptom pop up and I start worrying about it compulsively.  Even before I call the doctor, I am on the internet trying to find something to prove to me that it is just my anxiety and nothing horrible is wrong with me.

I have put together a list of anxiety symptoms I have personally experienced. If you have had similar symptoms, or something to add, please comment below….I’d love to hear from you!

  • Feeling like you can’t get enough air
  • Out of breath
  • Hyperventilating
  • Chest tightens
  • Chest pain
  • Fast heart beat
  • Heart palpitations
  • Throat tightens
  • Feeling like there is a lump in your throat
  • Shaking uncontrollably
  • Shaking “inside” (not visible on outside)
  • Fidgety
  • Muscle pain (especially back, chest and neck)
  • Electric shock feeling
  • Flushed and face feels very hot
  • Rash or hives
  • Stomach upset
  • Frequent urination
  • Numbness in lips
  • Numbness and tingling in arms and legs
  • Weakness in legs
  • Slurred speech
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Self conscious
  • Fatigue
  • Irritable
  • Moody
  • Paranoid
  • Emotional/Weepy
  • Can’t focus
  • Can’t sleep well
  • Wake up very early and can’t go back to sleep
  • Worry compulsively about things, mainly illness
